Early “Career”
Danny is the founder and CEO of DEW Development (DEW are the initials to his full name). He has been with computers and programming since the dawn of the PC age, first learning to program on what was then “an old” Altair (one of the first personal computers invented) in 1976. From there he continued to learn programming going so far as to write an operating system for a TRS-80 in 1979. He continued to keep his programming skills but shifted to a focus on databases. In 1992 he utilized a complex architecture involving a large number of computers on a network to create a 500 megabyte in total storage “operational data store) utilizing DBase 3+ … it was likely the largest personal computer based data warehouse at the time.
Mid Career
After the creation of what he at the time called an operational data store (but in today’s terms would be called a data warehouse) he shifted to a focus on large decision support systems until becoming one of the lead systems architects at Silicon Graphics, Inc. There he developed a methodology for using data mining approaches in a novel way to solve problems. Utilizing those approaches in warranty fraud and insurance fraud detection systems in 2000. However, Silicon Graphics as a company was experiencing an inability to adjust to the bursting of the dot com bubble and the Professional Services division that he worked for was eliminated. This started Danny’s journey working for himself.
Present Day
Today, Danny has created software utilizing a wide range of technologies. Multiple types of internet software written with PHP, JavaScript (including the use of JQuery, Angular or Vue) and backend database typically written with MySQL. You can see some of these apps at our page here, but you can see a new eCommerce framework that he created that does much more than something like Shopify here.
He has also written software utilizing the .Net framework, preferring VB.Net but writing in C# as well for many components and writing with a very wide variety of backends. Further, his love for decision support systems still stands, working with Oracle (including the Oracle App Suite), MS SQL Server, SSRS, and so on.
Project In Development
We are currently working on a niche market dating app (which can be seen here, remember, it’s under development). We are further continuing the development of our eCommerce software.
Most important we are working on software for the autonomous vehicle market which will make those vehicles significantly safer and far less likely to have an accident. This software like so many other things Danny has done in the past, will take a different approach than anything currently on the market today. This involves the launch of a new company we’re calling Spider V2X. Learn more about it by clicking here.
